This week, kindergarteners sang a song called "Cobbler Cobbler." They did a rhythmic dictation activity with this song on the Promethean Board. They also played unpitched percussion instruments with the song.
First and second graders learned many of the instrument parts for their Spring Sing this week. They determined what parts they would like to have in the Spring Sing. Most students chose to have parts in the concert, but there are a few students who do not want extra parts. Many students have really enjoyed drawing what they imagine Ima Milliner's hat will look like. If your child would like to draw another picture, the sheet can be found here: Hat Coloring Sheet
Third and fourth graders learned the instrument parts for their Spring Sing this week and began choosing the parts they would like to perform in the Spring Sing. Any third or fourth grade student who would like to play the "Fur Elise" piano part should come to the music room at recess on Wednesday to see if he is comfortable playing it in front of an audience. Any student interested in a singing solo should come to the music room on Thursday during recess to do their "test of courage." This is done to see if they are comfortable performing in front of an audience. Students who will not be here next week should have already made alternate arrangements with Mrs. Crutchfield. If your child will not be here next week and is interested in one of these parts, please contact Mrs. Crutchfield immediately to make alternate arrangements.
Fifth graders learned the instrument parts for their Spring Sing this week and selected the parts they would most like to perform in the concert. Students should have all of their songs completely memorized by this point.
