Kindergarteners listened to a story called So-Me Goes Missing and learned the Solfege hand signs "sol" and "mi." They also worked with high and low sounds in the "Good Day Song."
First graders sang and did partner movements to a song called "Hello, Hello." They also had fun playing the singing game "Lucy Locket" and finding the steady beat to the song.
Second graders did a folk dance from Colombia called "Caimarusa" and spent some time reviewing the difference between rhythm and steady beat. They also reviewed the names of each barred instrument, which they will begin playing next week.
Third graders learned a song called "Laugh, Ha, Ha!" which they performed in a four-part round.
Fourth graders performed a folk dance to a song that they sang called "Down the River." They also did an activity that helped them work as a team and communicate without using their voices.
Fifth graders played unpitched percussion instruments and played a game called streets and alleys to a speech piece of music.
Have a great (not too hot!) long weekend!!
