This has been an exciting week at Wayne Thomas! Kindergarten Field Day was Thursday, and the rest of the school enjoyed Field Day on Friday. The third graders went on their field trip to Chicago on Wednesday. Mr. Bush's class play was this week, too!
Kindergarteners in the morning class learned a folk dance called "Kinderpolka." Students in the afternoon class read a story called Harry and the Lady Next Door to help review high and low sounds. They enjoyed finding the steady beat with Solami and doing several movement activities.
First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders began doing their sharing days. Each class has a designated day where the students have the opportunity to perform for one another. They perform things that they have prepared outside of class. Students who take instrument lessons or dance classes often share things that they have learned in these activities. Some students also create skits or perform other sorts of creative ideas. This is something that students are not required to do, but most children choose to participate in either a solo or group activity.
Have a great weekend!
