Week of February 10

Parents of 1st & 2nd Graders:  Don't forget that the 1st & 2nd Grade Informances are next week!  2nd Grade takes place on Thursday during your child's music class, and 1st Grade will be held on Friday during music classes.  See you there!

Kindergarteners learned a song called "Valentine, Valentine" and performed a partner dance with the song.  They really enjoyed singing and dancing with their classmates.

First graders began learning a folk dance called "Alabama Gal" this week.  This is one of the activities they will be doing at their Informances next Friday!  They are very excited to show you this dance and maybe even dance WITH you!

Second graders performed a partner dance called "Valentine Dance."  They began learning a folk dance called "Galopede," which they will be doing next Thursday at their Informance.  They are looking forward to showing you this dance and possibly even dancing WITH you!  They also started a rhythmic composition activity.

Third and fourth graders learned the singing and movement for their second Spring Sing song this week.  They are doing a great job so far!  Mark your calendars with their Spring Sing dates:  Wednesday, April 30 at Elm Place at 7pm, (assembly for the school is on Monday, April 28).

Fifth graders did a self-assessment of their performance from last week's boomwhacker piece.  They were also very excited to start their African drumming unit!
