Kindergarteners in Ms. Tepper's morning class sang a song about traveling to Grandpa's farm this week. They played a game with this song and did very well with it. Students in Ms. Tepper's afternoon class did not have music this week due to field day.
First graders sang a song about summer activities this week. They created movements for the song and chose various unpitched percussion instruments to represent sounds that they hear during the summer. They also had Sharing Day, which they enjoyed very much.
Second graders completed their activities with The Pout Pout Fish in the Big-Big Dark. They played this song and story on the Orff instruments. They also sang a song about going to the zoo and used unpitched percussion instruments to create the sounds of the different animals found in a zoo. They had Sharing Day this week, as well.
Third graders worked on African drumming this week and also participated in Sharing Day. They had some fantastic performances for Sharing Day!
Fourth graders also continued African drumming this week. They enjoyed performing for Sharing Day. Many students had very creative performances!
Fifth graders met with Mr. Rohwer and Mrs. Delligatti, the band and orchestra directors at Northwood. They learned more about the band and orchestra programs and had any questions answered. They also continued working on their recorder music and participated in Sharing Day.
