Chorus starts next week! If you child signed up to sing in Chorus this year, see the "Chorus" section of this blog for more specific information.
Read on to find out what your child learned in Music this week!
Kindergarteners in Ms. Tepper's morning class continued working on their name song and read a book called So-Me Goes Missing, which introduced them to their first two Solfege pitches: sol and mi. Students in the afternoon class did not have music this week due to the early release on Friday.
Second graders sang a song called "Closet Key." They reviewed the dynamic levels they learned in first grade: piano, mezzo-piano, mezzo-forte, forte, crescendo, and decrescendo. They also played a singing game with this song.
Third graders learned a song called "Laugh, Ha, Ha." They performed this song in a four-part canon!
Fourth graders performed "Music Keeps Us Singing" in three parts. It was difficult to hold their own parts, but they did a nice job of it.
Fifth graders learned their first concert song, which is a mash-up between two versions of the "Mickey Mouse Club" theme song. All of their songs are now posted on the "Concert Music" section of this blog, so they can access them at home.
