1st and 2nd graders were very excited for their parents to join them this week for our Informances! Thank you to all who were able to be a part of our special event.
Kindergarteners did not have music this week because there is no school on Friday.
Second graders did a very nice job with their Informances! They shared a video of a song they composed with their parents and got to perform a folk dance with their guests.
Third graders read a book called When I First Came to This Land and sang a song of the same name. They learned about the timbre of instruments and voices and performed the song using unpitched percussion instruments.
Fourth graders continued working on their recorder music this week. They learned a new note, E, which is the first note that they will play using both hands. Students should be practicing 5-10 minutes each night.
Fifth graders continued working on the music for their upcoming concert, featuring songs from around the world. An information sheet was sent home today with the final details for the concert. Please contact Mrs. Crutchfield if you did not receive an information sheet. The concert is shortly after Thanksgiving break, on Wednesday, December 7.
