Keep reading to learn about some of the highlights from your child's music class this week!
Kindergarteners watched a movie that helped to expose them to music from many different cultures this week. They worked on finding the steady beat to many of these songs.
Second graders began learning a new song this week that has a passing game to go with it. They used this song to work on their singing goals and to review the difference between the macrobeat (big beat) and the microbeat (small beat).
Third and fourth graders learned movements for their third concert song this week. Many students were unable to practice their songs over the long weekend due to being out of town. Please remind your children that they should be working on their concert music at home. This could be as simple as having the music playing in the background while they are cleaning their rooms!
Fifth graders are doing a nice job in their recorder unit. They have been working hard during class time, and it is clear that many students are also working hard at home. Keep up the good work!
