Read on to learn about some of the highlights from your child's music class this week!
Kindergarteners sang a song called "Valentine, Valentine" this week. They enjoyed performing a partner dance with this song. Take a look at Mrs. Crutchfield's Twitter account (@ecrutchfield112) to see some pictures from their dance! (You can access the Twitter account from the main page of this music blog and clicking on "Follow" on the left side of the page.)
Second graders played a singing game with a song called "One Small Musician" this week. This game helped them to focus on improvising 4-beat body percussion patterns. Students took turns leading the class during this activity.
Third and fourth graders learned their second concert song this week. They should be practicing their songs and movements at home each night. All of their lyric sheets and recordings are available under the "Concert Music" section of this blog.
Fifth graders are working hard on their recorder music. Students work at their own pace during this unit. Some students have already earned their blue belts, while others are still working on their white belts. All students should be practicing their instruments at home.
