Week of May 22

Students in 1st-5th grades will have their "Sharing Days" in music next week.  This is an opportunity for any interested student to perform for the class.  Some popular performances in the past have included playing an instrument for the class, sharing a dance from a dance class, performing a skit, singing a song, demonstrating martial arts moves, or telling jokes.  The possibilities are endless!  This is their opportunity to share their talents with their classmates!  If your child needs a particular recording for a performance, please feel free to email me the file or a link to the song ahead of time.  Students may also make a video recording of a performance if they do not want to perform it live.  This is a low-key event, so it is nothing to be worried about.  Students typically really enjoy getting to perform for their peers in this supportive environment!  See below for each class's Sharing Day dates.

Kindergarteners did not have music this week because school is not in session on Friday.

First graders studied French composer Camille Saint-Saens' "Carnival of the Animals" this week.  They listened to all of the sections of this piece, and they watched several video interpretations of the songs.
