Week of February 20

Thank you to all of the family members who came to support the 1st and 2nd graders at their Informances this week.  Students reflected on the informances during music, and some even wrote, "I wish we could have the informance every day" on their reflection sheets.  Thank you for your support!

Kindergarteners were excited to learn two new music symbols this week.  They learned that the quarter note gets one beat of sound, and the quarter rest gets a beat of silence.  They also sang and performed movements to a song called "Tap Your Shoulders."

First and second graders had their informances this week.  There was an excellent turnout for these events, and students were very excited to share their learning with their family members.

Third and fourth graders learned movements for their third Spring Sing song this week.  They also began learning the vocal part for their fourth song.  They seem to really be enjoying their concert music.  You should hear your child practicing the songs at home.  All songs are available for students to listen to on the "Concert Music" section of this blog.

Fifth graders worked on their recorder songs this week.  Most students are working on their yellow or orange belts.  Some students are soaring ahead and are currently working on their blue or purple belts.

As always, please free to contact me with any questions or concerns: ecrutchfield@nssd112.org.
