Congratulations to the 3rd & 4th graders on a fantastic Spring Sing on Wednesday evening. They worked hard and should be very proud!
Kindergarteners read a story called Up, Down, and Around, which is about how different types of plants grow. They used the Orff instruments (xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels) to perform the "up" and "down" sections of the book. They will do more work with this story next week.
First graders read a book called The Little Red Hen. They performed two different Orff instrument parts and a sand block part to a song from this story. They also acted out the roles of the different characters. They will do more work with this book next week.
Second graders completed their "Ping Pong Pig" compositions this week. All students shared their compositions with the class. They seemed to enjoy this activity.
Third and fourth graders did a great job in their Spring Sing assembly on Monday and their evening performance on Wednesday. They did a nice job with their singing, instrument parts, singing and rap solos, dance parts, and speaking parts.
Fifth graders continued working on their ukulele music this week. This is a self-paced unit, so students work at their own speed. Every child is expected to play for me at least once a week, but many choose to test much more frequently than that. They are doing a nice job.
