First graders also played the Orff instruments and improvised with a song called "Winter is Here," and they learned about different types of bells with the song "Ding Dong Bells."
Second graders finished working on the song "December Winds" and performed it in a 4-part round with instruments they selected to go with the song. They also learned a conversational song called "A Sledding Song" and performed it in character for one another.
Third graders used the partner songs they learned last week, "Snow, Beautiful Snow" and "Over the River" to create class compositions. They decided how they wanted to use the two songs, what the form of the composition should be, and what instruments were appropriate for each section.
Fourth and fifth graders were introduced to the newest section of the Wayne Thomas Music Blog. The "Recorder Music" page is a place where they can access the music they use in class to earn recorder belts. This may come in handy for them if they forget their recorder music at school. They will always have a place to find it! The fourth and fifth graders have been given a password that they will be asked for before accessing the music.
Most of the fourth graders are currently working on their purple belts.
Most of the fifth graders are working on either their orange or green belt songs.
