Week of March 22

If you are able to let us borrow any of the items listed at the beginning of last week's entry, please email me as soon as possible! (egavin@nssd112.org)

Kindergarteners learned to distinguish high and low sounds on many different instruments and in their voices.  They did a movement activity with scarves and created a movement composition in ABA form.

First and second graders were thrilled to learn their Spring Sing parts this week!  Every student got either his first or second choice part, so they really enjoyed working on putting the entire show together.  This week, your child should have brought home a reminder sheet about the April 14th concert.  Please see the "Important Dates" section of the blog for more information or to access a copy of this sheet.

Third and fourth graders enjoyed learning instrument parts for their Spring Sing songs.  Many students sang for one another, and we discussed proper audience etiquette.

Fifth graders learned their sixth Spring Sing song, which is from "Bye Bye Birdie."  They learned about the composer, Charles Strouse, who also wrote the music for another well-known Broadway musical, "Annie."
