Keep reading to learn about some of the highlights from your child's music classes this week.
Kindergarteners worked on differentiating between high and low sounds. They did a creative movement activity to help them identify the high and low sounds, and they predicted what instruments would sound like based on the size. They know that the larger the instrument, the lower it will sound.
Second graders were recorded singing "Mouse, Mousie" for their singing assessments this week. They also read a book called Ping Pong Pig. They learned a song that goes with this book and used this story to create a soundscape. They played the Orff instruments with the song, as well.
Third and fourth graders are doing a nice job with their Spring Sing music. Some students need additional practice with the words. All songs are accessible under the "Concert Music" section of this blog, so they should be practicing them at home.
Fifth graders continued working on their recorder music this week. Most students are working very hard on their songs. They should be practicing at home for at least five minutes each day.
