The Arts in Action committee is in the early stages of planning for next year's special event! If you know of anyone who might be interested in leading an arts-related workshop at our Arts in Action day in March 2016, please contact Mrs. Crutchfield.
Kindergarteners in Ms. Tepper's morning class read a book called Up, Down, and Around. They used the Orff instruments to play the sounds for going up and going down. They did a creative movement activity with this story, too. Students in Ms. Tepper's afternoon class did not have music this week due to Friday's early release.
Second graders did self-assessments of their singing recordings this week. They conferenced with Mrs. Crutchfield and set singing goals to work towards for the beginning of next year. They also played a series of games called "Crutchfield Corners," that help them to practice many of their music skills.
Third, fourth, and fifth graders began their African percussion instrument unit this week. They reviewed the names of the instruments and the ways they are played. They did many echo patterns using the high and low tones.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns: ecrutchfield@nssd112.org.
