Read on to find out about some of the highlights from your child's music class this week!
Kindergarteners in Ms. Tepper's morning class sang several songs and played unpitched percussion instruments. They did a creative movement activity using scarves, too. Students in the afternoon class did not have music this week due to the early release on Friday.
Second graders focused on sight-singing this week. They sight-read many songs and played several games with the songs. They also began learning a song that they will be recorded singing next week.
Third graders sang a Nigerian song called "Tue, Tue." They read about the New Yam Festival that is celebrated in West Africa in the late fall. They also began an activity with the "Nutcracker March."
Fourth graders showed great improvement in their recorder playing this week! Most students earned at least one new belt during Music this week. Keep up the good work!
Fifth graders had their full fifth grade rehearsal this week. Their concert is next Wednesday, December 9 at 7:00pm at Wayne Thomas. If you are unable to attend the performance, you may contact Mrs. Crutchfield for more information about possibly attending the assembly on Monday, December 7 during the school day.
