Read on to learn about some of the highlights from your child's music class this week!
Kindergarteners shared creative ways that they could make sounds with their rhythm sticks while singing a simple song. They also played a singing game with a sound called "Sounds on the Farm."
Second graders completed their accompaniment compositions this week. They each created a short rhythmic composition for an unpitched percussion instrument, and then they worked with their classmates to use their peers' ideas to add to their songs. Students accompanied the class's singing with their compositions.
Third and fourth graders are doing a nice job with their Spring Sing music. They are working on really telling the story through their singing, movements, and acting. If you did not receive a copy of the Spring Sing information sheet that was sent home a couple of weeks ago, please have your child pick up an extra copy from the table outside the music room.
Fifth graders played the theme from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony on the ukuleles this week. They are really enjoying playing this new instrument this year! Thanks to the 112 Education Foundation for this great addition to our music class!
