Week of January 22

Find out what your child has been learning in Music by reading below!

Kindergarteners played glockenspiels with their snowman song this week.  They also did a movement activity that showed the difference between music they would walk to and music they would gallop to.

First graders focused on question and answer form this week.  They played a singing game with a song in question and answer form, and they did several listening activities with songs in question and answer form.

Second graders self-assessed the video performance of their folk dance this week.  They also began learning a song called "Pizza For All."  They played many different instruments and body percussion with this song.

Third graders made singing recordings of "Dance for the Nations" this week.  Students are in the process of grading their own recordings and setting singing goals based upon their recordings.

Fourth graders self-assessed the video performance of their folk dance this week.  They also began learning a song called "Cotton-Eye Joe" and composing movements to this piece.

Fifth graders performed their body percussion compositions for their classmates this week.  Some groups chose to add instruments to their performances, as well.  They also reviewed how to read the letter names of the notes on the treble clef staff.
