We had a very strange week, due to the snow and cold weather days. Some classes had music this week, and some did not. See below to find out about the activities that were done for those who had music.
Kindergarteners read a book called Nellie Belle and used Orff instruments to play the ascending and descending pitches in the song.
First graders played a singing game with a song called "Charlie Over the Ocean." This song is in call and response form, and they took turns singing the call.
Second graders continued working in groups to compose tunes for their pizza songs. They rolled dice to see which pitch sets they should use for each line of the song.
Third and fourth graders began learning the first song for their Spring Sing concert this week. The concert is all about going to summer camp. Many students said they have attended overnight camp before, and many more said they hope to in the future.
Fifth graders finished performing "Getting Around" on the Boomwhackers this week. They also began reviewing their recorder technique, as they are getting the recorder unit started.
