Don't forget about the upcoming Sharing Days in music! This special day is an opportunity for any interested student to perform for the class. Nobody is required to perform, but most students choose to. If your child takes instrument lessons, dance classes, gymnastics, taekwondo, etc., this would be a great opportunity for them to share their talents with their peers! Examples of previous sharing day performances include playing or singing a song, performing a skit, telling jokes, etc. If your child would like to perform something that cannot be done in the classroom, they may bring or email me a recording of the performance that can be shared. If your child's performance needs a particular song, please email me a link to the school-appropriate version of the song that we can play in class. If your child's performance requires a large instrument that they will be bringing from home, they can store it in the music room during the day. See each grade level's section below to find out when your child's Sharing Day will be!
Kindergarteners sang a Japanese folk song called "Kaeru No Uta" this week. They enjoyed playing unpitched percussion instruments along with this piece.
